Yes, Okonkwo was obsessed with power. He was a leader and not a follower. This quality, however, did cause some problems in his life. He tried to control everything around him. He was a perfectionist. When he saw his son or wife not following orders, he beat them. He did this in anger. He lost his cool. Sometimes in life people who try to control everything around them lose sight of what is important in life. Yes, he wanted his reputation to be like a wild fire across the land. He had great expectations. Yet, he was a tyrant and people generally don't like tyrants.

I like your journal,Faiza. I think Okonkowo is flawed character in this story. He tried to show his strongleth because he does not want people to think he is weak person.
